The NEC Medias X 06E: the world’s first liquid-cooled smartphone!

Think liquid-cooling is just for PCs? Think again! The folks at NEC has just recently announced the NEC Medias X 06E, which sports a liquid cooling pipe behind the display and next to the processor. This, according to the company, will transfer heat away from the phone’s processor via an evaporation and condensation cycle.

Apart from the liquid-cooling system, the Medias X 06E features a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor under the hood, a 4.7inch OLED screen, a 13.1MP camera and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. It should be available in Japan on the NTT Docomo carrier this coming June. For a quick overview of the device, see the video below:
